Shri Akal Takht Sahib has been ordered to celebrate the holy Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji on 25th December. After the meeting of Panch Singh Sahiban here on Monday, the Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Gurbachan Singh, clearing the confusion about the dates of the festival, said that the thanksgiving day of the 350th Prakash Parv of Guru Sahib and the 351st Prakash Parv Takht It is being celebrated grandly at Sri Patna Sahib. That’s why Guru Sahib’s Prakash Parv will be celebrated on Poh Sudi seventh (December 25) only. SGPC has already celebrated Prakash Parv on 5th January as the martyrdom day of the younger Sahibzads falls on this day.
According to the revised Nanakshahi calendar, Guru Parv falls on 25 December while according to the original Nanakshahi calendar it falls on 5 January. Patna Sahib’s Jathedar Iqbal Singh has announced to celebrate Prakash Parv on 25th December. On the other hand, Sikh preacher Sant Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwala, surrounded by controversy for allegedly distorting Sikh history, has been ordered to submit his controversial CDs to Shri Akal Takht. Singh Sahiban said that Sangat has objected to the propaganda related to Guru history from his side. Due to this he had to cancel his program kept in Amritsar. Singh Sahiban said that Sangat should send those CDs to Shri Akal Takht Sahib on which he has objections, which will be investigated by the sub-committee of SGPC.
