Seven individuals were killed in a mass shooting that traversed two separate scenes in Half Moon Cove Monday evening, as per the San Mateo Region Sheriff’s Office.
Four casualties were found dead at around 2:22 p.m. at a nursery along the 12700 block of Cabrillo Interstate, the sheriff’s office said. One more casualty was shipped to Stanford Clinical Center with perilous wounds.
Not long after that disclosure, three additional casualties were found dead at another nursery close by, as per the sheriff’s office.
Specialists recognized the suspect as 67-year-old Half Moon Cove inhabitant Zhao Chunli. He was arrested without occurrence at around 4:40 p.m. after he was found in his vehicle in the parking area of the sheriff’s office substation in Half Moon Narrows, the sheriff’s office said. A self-loader handgun was tracked down in his vehicle.
Specialists accept Chunli acted alone, San Mateo Area Sheriff Christina Corpus said. A thought process in the shooting binge wasn’t quickly known.
The casualties are accepted to be laborers on the properties, Corpus said. Half Moon Sound Councilmember Debbie Ruddock said the casualties are Chinese farmworkers.
